GeoDis (GEOgraphical DISplay) - (c) 1995-98 Rolf Aeschbacher

GeoDis is a Geographical Information System (GIS). It draws maps of different countries on the Psion Series 3a/3c and Series 5. You can move the map around, enlarge or reduce it (zooming) and you can search for and display places. Information such as distance between places, population and elevation of cities etc. can be viewed.

GeoDis uses overlays to draw details such as roads, lakes, hotels etc. on the map. You can turn overlays on or off at any time.

GeoDis is Shareware. This means that you can try it out for two weeks without obligation. If you like the program, then you must register it after this time. Registration is through payment of CHF 20 or US$ 15 or EUR 15 to the author (here is my address). You can also use RegNet to register GeoDis (see below). After registration you will receive the full version of GeoDis which has twice as many cities as the shareware version and further overlays. You will also receive a registration code (calculated from your first & last name) which enables all features of GeoDis.

In order to make GeoDis available to a wider audience, its user interface supports message files which make GeoDis language independent. Currently you can choose between English and German (both languages are present in the distribution).

Because there are so many maps for GeoDis now which need much storage space it's unlikely that users want to install all maps on their Psion. Hence the maps have been separated from the main program. Users usually want the map for the country they are living in and therefore will receive that map automatically. The other maps can be delivered at a later date if wished.

New (12.99): For just one registration fee you're entitled to receive all available maps. You don't have to pay for additional maps anymore!

These maps are available in a more extensive version for registered users:

These maps are available for free (registration is still needed after using GeoDis for 14 days) and are contained in GEO07DIV.OPO/geo201div.zip:
